MIB3 Breaks IMAX Record Memorial Day Weekend!

Wow! I knew that MIB3 outperformed the Avengers last weekend and became the number 1 movie in the U.S , but I didn’t know until now that it broke sales records!

Thats right- The Men In Black set a new IMAX Memorial Day Weekend record, grossing $12.7 Million at the IMAX box offices during its 4 day opening weekend! That is pretty fantastic. The previous record holder for the weekend was the final Pirates of the Caribbean Movie, so the competition was stiff. Still, the MIB came out on top!

I love seeing movies in IMAX, it really makes you feel like you are inside the movie. I’m glad that it did so well with MIB3, maybe more movies will be heading to IMAX theaters! Bring it on!

Congrats to the Men In Black, I think you have some MIBelievers to thank? 🙂

US Opens Alien Defense Headquarters!

My favorite news site is reporting that the US government has opened an ADH- Alien Defense Headquarters. It makes sense since there is supposed to be an Alien attack later this year! I’m wondering how this new headquarters will compare to the Men In Black…I bet their weapons and Agents aren’t nearly as cool! On second thought- it must be a decoy because we know that the REAL Alien Defense Department is top secret!

UFO Crash in Aurora, Texas!

This is really cool- there was a UFO crash reported in this town Aurora, over 100 YEARS AGO! There was even a funeral for the “Martian” Pilot! I guess people have been interested in Aliens for a lot longer than I thought! Now the real question is: why haven’t I heard about this before? In fact, none of my friends had ever heard of this place either. Perhaps the MIBs performed one of their “Mind Wipings” to make people forget!

New Alien Goodies at Baskin-Robbins!

OOH looks like the “pink surprise cake” might have some competition! Our favorite ice cream spot, Baskin- Robbins, has released a few new flavors and sundae options to commemorate the release of MIB3! Here is what they have for us (try not to drool on your keyboard):

The ‘Lunar Cheesecake’ ice cream, originally released for the moon landing in 1969 (woah!) will be making a reappearance. It features green and white cheesecake ice cream loaded with cheesecake bits and wrapped up in a crunchy Graham cracker ribbon.

The new sundaes, “Lunar Lander” and “Agent 31” feature the Lunar Cheesecake ice cream, with the “Lander” topped with Marshmallow and Yellow Cake (YUMMM!), and “31” topped with brownies and hot fudge (DROOOL!)

Definitely trying one of everything! (including the pink surprise cake)

Yummy MIB3 Treats from Dunkin Donuts!

It looks like the Men In Black are inspiring all sorts of delicious treats! Dunkin Donuts, (whom I have always suspected as being involved in an Alien cover-op), has released some new stuff that I can’t wait to try. The ‘Black Cocoa Creme Iced Coffee,’ and  ‘Undercover Black Cocoa Donut’ are both inspired by the movie (and look delicious!) Let’s hope there isn’t any “Spikey Bulba” hiding in there!

 

Aliens from MIB3!

I found some stills from behind the scenes of MIB3, featuring the incredible work of movie make-up artist Rick Baker. They look great! In the article below, “Screenrant” describes how they went for a “retro” look since the MIBs were traveling back in time! Movie magic really amazes me.

BIG Pre-Release Buzz!

It looks like a lot of people are as excited about this movie as I am! MIB3 recently got a rating of 96% of people wanting to see it on Rotten Tomatoes- that’s huge! Rotten Tomatoes’ advice never lets me down. I guess I might have to wait in line to get into this one… thinking I might pre-buy my tickets. I hope there is a midnight showing!

Time Travel!

I have been thinking a lot about time travel today, so I looked for something fun to post on the subject! Agent J goes back in time in MIB3 by jumping off the Chrysler building with a special MIB gadget (AMATEURS DO NOT ATTEMPT!)

I found this great article on time travelers from the Weekly World News archive and thought you might enjoy it! I hope the MIBs are careful about not changing the future! (unless it is to save us from Aliens, of course.)

UFO in Russia?

Found this video of a UFO spotting in Russia somewhere. Very interesting- the picture is clear and the lights in the sky are definitely not airplanes! Take a look for yourself!
